This ceramic moon mask was finished by using the aluminum foil saggar firing technique. The mask was painted with ferric chloride then wrapped with aluminum foil and placed into the raku kiln for firing. Once the masks is cooled and removed from the kiln, the foil is then peeled off to reveal a palette of colors. The mask was then mounted to a piece of 400 year old pine bark then finished off by decorating it with various hues of green moss.
